International recording artist and producer Edley Shine, one of the iconic voices behind the #DABIGVOICE brand and a founding member of the legendary duo Born Jamericans, has dropped his latest single, “Time & Place,” featuring Baby Ace.
According to Caribbean entertainment publicist Flair Lindsey, of Acclaim PR, the track is the newest addition to “a prolific series of singles that reaffirm his status as a trailblazer of the crossover ‘Jamerican’ sound — a unique fusion of Hip-Hop and Dancehall that has influenced a generation of contemporary artists.
“In an era where Caribbean music continues to evolve amid a fast-paced digital landscape, Edley Shine has partnered with Symphonic Distribution to champion authenticity, quality, and artistic legacy,” Lindsey told Caribbean Life on Thursday, April 23. “While today’s industry often leans into rapid trends and chart-driven momentum, the creative remains grounded in the rich traditions of the genre, delivering a refreshing and elevated sound that honors its roots while moving the culture forward.”
She said the visuals for “Time & Place” are “deeply rooted in community and culture.”

Earlier this year, Lindsey said Edley Shine and his Shinealous Team, alongside Dee Jays For Hunger led by DJ Jahmar, collaborated with Wasp and the Cassia Park community to host a massive food drive in Kingston, Jamaica.
She said this “powerful event” served as the backdrop for the song’s music video shot by Roe Summerz and edited by Venter Visuals, “blending the grit and beauty of the island with a message of resilience.”
“My main purpose now is to give back to my culture as much as possible,” Edley Shine said. “The island’s culture has been pillaged from the inside out. I stand as one of its soldiers who will never switch or turn on the culture that made me the man I am.”
Lindsey said “Time & Place” is “more than a single, rather it serves as a powerful statement, solidifying a return to genuine storytelling and community-driven art.”
As the lyrics proclaim, “A Fi We Time & Place,” the message reinforces that shift, Lindsey said.
“Time & Place” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
