Internationally recognized DJ and producer DJ Jahmar delivers “Badmon Money,” featuring Dancehall heavyweights Cutty Ranks, Edley Shine, Wasp, and rising artist Shan Hill.
Released on Friday, April 24, via Shinealous Records, the single stands as “a bold anthem bridging the roots of Dancehall with its modern evolution,” according to Flair Lindsey, Caribbean entertainment publicist, of Acclaim PR.
“‘Badmon Money’ blends Dancehall’s signature storytelling with Hip-Hop, showcasing distinct voices and eras while honoring the genre’s Jamaican roots,” she said.
“I made the beat two years ago and was just waiting for the right artists that I felt would be able to tell the proper story,” said DJ Jahmar.
“Each artist represents a different era and style. Cutty Ranks brings the 80s storytelling style, Edley Shine represents the 90s Dancehall boom-bap energy, Wasp carries the new wave, and Shan Hill adds melodic balance on the hook,” he added.
Lindsey said the collaboration highlights a “seamless passing of the torch, reinforcing Dancehall’s longevity and global impact.
“From veteran lyricism to contemporary delivery, ‘Badmon Money’ captures the essence of unity across eras, making it both a cultural statement and a powerful record,” she said.
Lindsey said the official music video —filmed at Fort Rocky in Jamaica — “further amplifies the authenticity of the project.
“Set against the backdrop of the historic military fort, the visual underscores Jamaica as the birthplace and enduring foundation of the sound,” she said.
“Jamaica is the ground and the foundation, so it was important that we all be there,” Jahmar said. “The energy and vibes are just different.”
Beyond the music, Lindsey said DJ Jahmar continues to expand his influence across international music spaces while remaining committed to community upliftment.
“His philanthropic efforts, spanning Jamaica and the United States, reflect a mission rooted in empowerment, cultural preservation, and social impact—using music as a universal language to inspire change,” she said.
“’Badmon Money’ arrives amid a strong run of releases from Shinealous Records, marking a season of hard-hitting drops from the label,” Lindsey said.
She said recent highlights include “Time & Place” by Edley Shine and DJ Baby Ace, along with “Fast & Pray” by Amlak RedSquare and DJ Baby Ace — “solidifying the imprint’s growing presence in today’s Reggae and Dancehall landscape.”
At its core, Lindsey said, “’Badmon Money’ delivers a cross-generational track that resonates widely.”
